Installation of Kitchen Faucet: Step by Step
Yeah, I am talking about the perfect set up. My questions is, why don’t you do it by yourself? Don’t worry, I’ll help you.
Today I am going to tell you about the steps that you can follow to get your kitchen faucet installed all by yourself.
I guess that’s going to get you some confidence for your next household task. Who knows your curiosity and confidence might lead you installing your whole kitchen sink someday.
I don’t think I need to say that you are going to need some tools to get the job done. What I need to say is which tools specially.
- The faucet
- Plumber’s putty
- Adjustable wrench
- Plumber tape
Installation, for obvious reason, is trickiest part for getting a new faucet. This is why it mandatory to follow specific steps while getting it installed.
There are kitchen stuffs that doesn’t a synchronized set up, but I can’t say the same thing for kitchen faucet.
I am here mentioning the installation process step by step that will make it easy for you install the faucet. All you need to do need to do is follow the instructions.
Step – 1: Putting the plastic gasket
The very first step that you need to finish off is putting the plastic gasket over the hole made for the faucet.
For obvious reason, there supposed to be a faucet hole with the sink that you can attach the faucet to. The plastic gasket is required for attaching the faucet because this is what helps to tighten the faucet with the sink.
If you are provided with a rubber with the faucet, then you can attach it with the faucet as well.
On the basis of the instruction from the manufacturer, attach the plastic gasket over the whole with some plumber’s putty.
Step – 2: Feeding faucet line into the hole
The next step is feeding the faucet line into the hole. This is nothing a much of a hectic part.
To be honest, this the easiest part in the whole process. All you need to do is a slip it in and get the pipeline till the starting point of the water pipe line.
Step – 3: Installing washer and nuts
This a quite important part within the installation, because if you leave lose, there is a higher possibility of water leakage and you’re surely not going to like it.
So, what you need to do here is get underneath sink and install the washer & nuts there.
For more of a caution you can use plumber’s putty for preventing leakage (if you have a plastic gasket with it) along with using the wrench to get it tightened.
Step – 4: Attaching quick-connect hose pipe
Now what you need to do is attach the quick-connect hose along with the water supply pipe. Then attach the weight with hose pipe.
If you are thinking that why weight is required attach with the pipe, then I must that the hose pipe need to get back on its previous position once you are done with your wash.
The weight mainly gets the hose pipe back to its position. This part needs to be performed if you are installing a pull-down faucet.
Step – 5: Connecting the water supply line
The next thing you need to do is connecting the hose pipe with the water supply line. You can are free to use plumber tape if you need.
Step – 6: Checking the leakage
Now turn on the water supply and check if it is working properly or not. Specially look for the leakage.
In the above discussion, I have tried to get you an easy set of instruction about how to get a kitchen faucet. It is nothing that difficult that you can do by yourself.
All you need is a little confidence, a faucet and a bunch of tools to get the work done.
